VOLUNTEER

Looking for ways to get involved?

SARN is always looking for caring and compassionate individuals to join the team.

Stop by our general meetings, Wednesdays at 7 PM in BC012 or email the SARN co-chairs at sarn@stolaf.edu for more information about how to be involved!

Interested in becoming a SARN advocate?

SARN advocates provide support and advocacy to survivors and their family and friends. A SARN advocate must be a student and go through the 40 hour HOPE Center training. A SARN advocate must actively participate and come to meetings in order to maintain membership.

  • An active advocate must regularly attend meetings and be committed to the organization

  • There are rare exceptions when a person has demonstrated adequate training from another Minnesota source is granted membership.

  • Advocates are encouraged to attend study-abroad programs and may return to active participation upon their return to St. Olaf.

Interested in becoming a SARN educator?

A SARN educator is responsible for presenting information about SARN, resources and healthy relationships in first-year corridor education talks. Educators must be students and must also attend a one-hour training session offered in early Fall Semester. Educators need to attend training on an annual basis.

Interested in becoming a SARN general member?

General members of SARN may attend meetings and assist with event planning, volunteering and advertising for SARN activities. Any St. Olaf student may be a general member of SARN.
